Advanced technology and meticulous design
Lynx controller is a new generation, using 36 MOSFETs limited to 200V/140A. This makes the theoretical maximum peak power for the controller 840A x 150V, or an astonishing 126KW, giving a hefty safety margin at extreme power-drawing scenarios.
In any case, this is not the weakest link in the chain. Anything not even close has been achieved by any EUC before. Contrary to the increase in power output, the weight of the controller base (heat sink) has been reduced to 700 g compared to 1250 g of the Patton.

Battery
Lynx has a SmartBMS for the battery packs, which allows for more information about the status of individual battery cells, like cell voltage variance and many temperature points.
It also enables super-fast battery charging at 15A current (2300W) via two charging ports. SmartBMS provides a way to configure and optimize many battery parameters.
Lynx battery packs are combined at 2700Wh, higher than Patton (2250Wh) but lower than Sherman S or Sherman Max (3600Wh). This makes Veteran Lynx one of the top electric unicycles in power density (battery size compared to the wheel’s total weight).
Lynx has 144 Samsung 50S high-power elements (36S4P) in the battery. These cells stand out with higher charging rates (2.2 times faster) and discharging rates (3 times faster than Samsung 50E). The 50S also offers a wider operating temperature range.
Lastly, 50S cells can produce higher currents when the battery is partially depleted (lower voltage). This reduces the risk of cut-outs when more power is needed. Even if the Lynx battery is smaller than the Sherman S’s, the power draw is lower thanks to its lower weight and better optimization.
Motor
The Veteran Lynx motor is a spectacular advancement in EUC motor technology. It comes with 3.2 kW rated power and 8 kW peak power. Compared to Patton, the motor rim increased to 14″, and peak power increased by 1 kW while not increasing the wheel’s total weight.
This powerful Lynx motor weighs only 10.7kg, which is +0.7kg compared to Patton. If the Veteran had opted for the same material for the motor they used for Patton, the total weight could have been about 13kg.
The Lynx motor has an advanced algorithm-based mechanism against hall sensor failure, preventing the wheel from being blocked, keeping the wheel balanced even if the hall sensor failure occurs, and helping the rider come to a safe stop.
Suspension
As one of the first, Lynx uses progressive springs in its suspension system. This reduces and, in most cases, overly eliminates the bottoming-out effect due to having a higher density of spring turns on the lower section of the coil. This means more resistive force is applied when the shock is at high compression after landing the jumps and drops. The FastAce oil suspension has 90mm of functional travel, which is +10cm compared to Patton. Preload for sag adjusting, compression, and rebound level adjusting is possible. Different spring weights can be chosen for rider weights, 62/66/70lbs. The lighter spring options are recommended for those who intend to use the wheel, mostly in commuter mode. A new 70lbs spring has been added for hard-core jumps and trails compared to Patton and Sherman S.
Safety Upgrades
The hall sensor error mitigation algorithm is aimed at keeping the wheel balanced even if a hall sensor error occurs. The algorithm works at speeds over 7km/h.
Smart field weakening increases the top speed without extra current needed. This increases the safety margin through a software algorithm at higher speeds. The field weakening is triggered by the speed but is not activated at any fixed speed, as it is not a linear algorithm. It also depends on other ride characteristics.
Smart sensor to detect motor blocking and save the controller or motor from damage due to overcurrent.
Veteran Lynx Improvements over Previous Models
- Spike footplates with the gradual fixing of the folding angle.
- Adjustable height jumping pads included.
- Suspension fork top covers added.
- The trolley handle is located in the back and rises higher, giving better control and enabling better seat mounting.
- The integrated bumper system and grab handle are slightly improved over the Sherman S.
- Reinforced magnesium alloy battery cases with alien head screws for better maintenance.
- The wheel has a double-sealed top cover for much better dust and water protection for electronics.
- The batteries can be maintained or replaced without removing the control board, reducing the risk of accidental damage.
- The charging ports are moved to the rear, reducing another risk factor.
- The motor bearing seals have been upgraded to ABEC-certified 2RZ seals with rubber gaskets.
- The app has quite a few improvements for settings, including the gradual 0-100 slider for setting pedal softness instead of the previous soft, medium, and hard modes.
Features
Like Veteran Patton, the Lynx is stuffed with a BW high-contrast display with buttons to adjust the settings and read the stats, a built-in kickstand, front and rear mudguards, adjustable 2500lm/20W headlight, large but light 10″ pedals, & front/rear handles for lifting the wheel.
The tire is a CST C186 or Kenda K262 2.75″ knobby tire with a 14″ rim and 20″ outer diameter. Veteran Lynx has no official IP rating, meaning the warranty does not cover water damage. However, riding the Lynx in the light rain should be feasible based on how the wheel is built and the user feedback.
The climbing angle is one of the key topics for any rider into trail riding. Lynx has confirmed a climbing angle of 45 degrees and probably more, subject to grip.

FAQ
In most European countries, electric unicycles fall into a legal grey area. Some jurisdictions permit them on bicycle lanes if limited to 25 km/h, while others classify them as motor vehicles requiring registration and insurance. Always check local laws before riding.
It depends on the model. Many city‑oriented electric unicycles top out around 25–40 km/h. Under ideal conditions, high-end off-road or performance models can exceed 70 km/h or more.
Learning an EUC takes practice. You’ll start by balancing slowly, using body lean forward/backward to accelerate or decelerate, and shifting your knees/hips to steer. At Voltride, we offer professional riding training in Tallinn — schedule a session with us to accelerate your learning curve.
Most EUC batteries are rated for 500–1000 complete charge cycles. Moderate use often equates to 2–4 years of reliable service.
Charging typically takes 4–8 hours, depending on battery capacity, charger quality, and whether the device supports fast charging.
Many EUCs are built with water resistance ratings (IP codes) to handle light rain. But intense downpours, deep puddles, or heavy water exposure can damage internal electronics. Ride with caution and avoid submersion.
For all riding, use at least a certified helmet, wrist guards, knee & elbow pads. For speeds over 40 km/h or off-road, consider body armor, full face helmets, and protective jackets.
Warnings
⚠️ WARNING: Failure to follow these instructions might lead to serious injury.
⚠️ WARNING! Tilting the unicycle forwards or backwards will cause the wheel to move forwards or backwards, maintaining the pedals in a horizontal position. When sideways, the wheel does not balance itself.
ALWAYS ride an electric unicycle with a helmet and arm, elbow, and knee protection. We recommend the use of a helmet with chin protection and special protective clothing (motorcycle jacket and trousers) with back protection.
DO NOT charge the unicycle if the charge port or power cord is wet. DO NOT charge or use your battery if it is damaged or shows traces of water.
DO NOT ride the electric unicycle in the rain or through puddles. Water damage is not covered under warranty, and the warranty will be voided. It is forbidden to wash the electric unicycle with water or other liquids.

This equipment is not intended for commercial or rental use.
Always obey traffic laws and local requirements when riding an electric unicycle.
Be familiar with and take into account the overload and other protection functions and warnings programmed into the bike's software:
- Speed and acceleration limit according to rider weight, battery capacity, and charge
- Automatic switch-off if the unicycle's side inclination exceeds 45 degrees
- Overheating protection
- Power short circuit protection
DO NOT rely solely on the above wheel protection measures—you are primarily responsible for your safety. When the battery charge drops to 60%, avoid sudden accelerations and ride at the maximum speed the wheel allows. The performance and safety of an electric unicycle are directly related to the battery charge level, which will decrease significantly as the battery is discharged.
⚠️WARNING! Braking abruptly or in a bend can cause loss of control, which can lead to serious injuries. Serious injury. Always ensure your road is safe and drive at a speed appropriate to the driving conditions.
⚠️WARNING! As with any mechanical component, the electric unicycle is subject to stress and wear during use. Different materials and components age and wear differently. If the expected service life of a component is exceeded, it may break unexpectedly, causing injury to the user. Cracks, scratches, and discoloration indicate that a part under high stress has exceeded its service life and should be replaced. Such latent defects are checked during regular maintenance. At the same time, the user must also watch for such defects and service the wheel if necessary.
